Since March 2019, Bill Gette has explored area woodlands, grasslands, roadsides, disturbed industrial sites, bogs, and saltmarshes looking for wildflowers. In these varied habitats, he has photographed over 300 species. Bill will show his photographs of each wildflower’s blossoms, leaf shapes and arrangement along the stem, fruit, and discuss the habitats in which the plant thrives. He will also relate the origin of each plant’s scientific name—an engaging subject in itself. Where appropriate, he will explain the wildflower’s use in traditional medicine.  Bill presented last month for us, Intro to Wildflowers which will be beneficial to those who are here with us on ZOOM tonight.  This is a ZOOM only program with no recording rights.
