Have an unfinished quilt, sweater, blanket, rug, or embroidery project left behind by a loved one? Loose Ends aims to ease grief, create community, and inspire generosity by matching volunteer handwork finishers with projects left undone due to death, illness or disability.
Join Stephanie Fine for a Q&A to learn more about projects that qualify if you are interested in submitting to the Loose Ends non-profit for finishing. All services are volunteer and completely free. To learn more now visit: looseends.org.
About Loose Ends
The idea for Loose Ends came about when the founders, Jennifer Simonic and Masey Kaplan, both avid knitters, realized they had a shared experience: Friends would often ask them to finish blankets, sweaters, or other projects left undone by deceased loved ones. They always do so enthusiastically, understanding what it feels like to wear something a loved one has made.
Loose Ends was established in May 2023 as a 501(c)3 nonprofit.
About Stephanie Fine
Based in Foxboro Stephanie was able the help finish a sweater a daughter submitted that her mother never finished and she was also able to help get a project from her mother finished for her brother by connecting with a crafter who knew the box stitch she never learned. Stephanie is a volunteer inspired to help raise awareness as they currently have more volunteers than projects at this time.
