Edward Hopper: Sunlight and Solitude offered by Culturally Curious:
VIRTUAL ART APPRECIATION PROGRAMS & ARTS EDUCATION CONSULTING

Join us as we start the new year with a great AMERICAN ART SERIES.  The first artist we will be discussing is EDWARD HOPPER: From the bustling city to beaches of Cape Cod, Hopper’s paintings capture a feeling of quiet tension: Hopper was an American painter whose realistic depictions of everyday urban scenes shock the viewer into recognition of the strangeness of familiar surroundings. He strongly influenced the Pop art and New Realist painters of the 1960s and 1970s. Culturally Curious  Founder & President Jane Oneail, will present on the subject. Jane holds a master’s in Art History from Boston University and a master’s in Education from the Harvard University Graduate School of Education. She is a NH native and has worked at some of the state’s most esteemed cultural institutions, including the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen, where she served as Executive Director, and the Currier Museum of Art, where she held the role of Senior Educator. Jane founded the Currier’s Alzheimer’s Cafe and led the tour program for the museum and the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Zimmerman House. She has taught Art History at the college level for more than a decade, most recently at Southern New Hampshire University.
