VIRTUAL: Reading the Rainbow: An LGBTQ Book Group - Tomboy Survival Guide
Tuesday, July 116:00—7:00 PMOtherRockport Public Library17 School Street, Rockport, MA, 01966
Reading the Rainbow is an online-exclusive book group hosted by the Boston Public Library geared towards members of the LGBTQ+ community interested in reading queer fiction, memoirs, and graphic novels. While we typically focus on reads that center sapphic, transgender, and nonbinary identities, we also read books revolving around other queer identities. All communication will take place on the messaging platform Discord: no webcam or microphone needed! Meetings will take place on the second Tuesday of the month at 6:00 pm.
Join us on July 11 for a lively discussion of Ivan Coyote's Tomboy Survival Guide, a funny and moving memoir told in stories, in which Ivan recounts the pleasures and difficulties of growing up a tomboy in Canada’s Yukon, and how they learned to embrace their tomboy past while carving out a space for those of us who don’t fit neatly into boxes, labels, or identities.
All book club titles are available on hoopladigital.com. For more information on using Hoopla, please visit the BPL's Stream and Download page.
Registration is required. Access to the book group's Discord server will be provided in an email sent out the Monday before the book discussion.
Registration required through the link in the description.
