An Introduction to Tick and Mosquito-Borne Diseases in Massachusetts  -- IN-PERSON -No registration required

In this program you will learn about the common ticks and mosquitoes prevalent in Massachusetts, the diseases they carry, and how to protect yourself.

Erin Mann is an Epidemiologist who has been with the Department of Public Health, Division of Epidemiology for four years, and specializes in Hepatitis and Zoonotic infectious diseases. She is primarily responsible for conducting epidemiologic investigations of communicable disease clusters and outbreaks, disseminating information to the public, healthcare providers, and hospitals, coordinating with local heath departments, other state health departments, and the CDC to mitigate the spread of disease, provide statistical analysis on surveillance data to identify trends in communicable diseases, and respond to infectious disease emergencies on 24-hours/7 days a week basis by determining appropriate control methods in order to alleviate the crisis. Erin received her MPH from the BU School of Public Health. Prior to working for MDPH, Erin worked in patient-centered outcomes consulting. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and has hiked all 94 high peaks of New York and New Hampshire!
