Ode to Toad presents Amy Rose, Principal of Rockport Middle/High School

Saturday, October 192:00—3:45 PMBrenner RoomRockport Public Library17 School Street, Rockport, MA, 01966

Amy will share her philosophy of leadership and community, and discuss her two books, Lead with Purpose. Lead with Love. and The Fear-Inspired Leader. She will talk about how to set encouraging examples, and reveal why cultivating true connection to the ones you serve produces the best outcomes. By sharing her own stories, she illuminates how to build strong relationships with people based on the idea that great leadership is born from a "them" (not a "you") mentality.  After the discussion, Amy's books will be available for sale (and she'll sign them for attendees, too).

About Amy Rose

Amy has a bachelor’s degree in communications and a master’s degree in education (school counseling). She is currently seeking a doctorate in instructional leadership. For over two decades, Rose has held various roles in the education system, including administrative assistant, school counselor, and assistant principal. She now serves as principal and Director of Professional Development, SEL, and Equity of a public school.  Rose has mentored and led many conferences that guide new administrators, teachers, support staff, students, and families.

She currently lives in Rockport, Massachusetts, with her husband and two children. She loves walking in the woods, watching her children ride dirt bikes, go-carts, tractors, and swimming at the local pond and beaches. Rose also enjoys the heart of her small community, eating and shopping downtown, enjoying performances at local venues, and being home with her family. Her family continues to be the most inspiring example of leadership and love.

Ode to Toad was founded this year by two local business owners to honor Toad Hall Books, a downtown store that delighted readers of all ages from 1972 to 2017. The organization, which hosts literary events in Rockport, was co-founded by children’s book author Susie Rich (owner of Susie’s Stories on Bearskin Neck) and non-fiction author Laura Bergheim (founder/CEO of Wordsmithie, Inc., at the corner of Beach and Main Streets).
