Notable Fiction Book Club: The Green Road by Anne Enright

Sunday, November 12:00—4:00 PMZoomRockport Public Library17 School Street, Rockport, MA, 01966

Notable Fiction Zoom meeting: Sunday, October 25 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Discuss The Green Road by Anne Enright

Spanning thirty years, The Green Road tells the moving story of Rosaleen, matriarch of the Madigans, a family in a small town on the Atlantic coast of Ireland. As they grow up, Rosaleen's four children leave the west of Ireland for Dublin, New York, and Mali, West Africa. As she grows older, Rosaleen decides to sell the family homestead. The children come home for a last Christmas. The visit opens memories of their relationships – ones they’ve lost and ones they never had – exposing compassion, selfishness and “gaps in the human heart”. [~GoodReads]

From reviews: This is Enright's most mature, accomplished, and unforgettable novel to date. Booker Prize nominee, 2015.
