Mushroom Talk for Family and Kids REGISTRATION REQUIRED

Sunday, August 142:00—3:15 PMBrenner RoomRockport Public Library17 School Street, Rockport, MA, 01966

As of AUGUST 1, this program has now been changed to an IN-PERSON program in the Brenner Room at the Rockport Library on Sunday August 14 @ 2pm, rather than a walk to forage on Friday August 12.

The lack of rain equals lack of mushrooms, but alas, we will reschedule at another date for a walk when the rain supplies us with the gift of the fungus and let you know via our newsletter, social media, and posters in the library!

The new program will be a learning experience about mushrooms for kids 6 and up and adults alike!

Please REGISTER for this event as its limited to 25 people. Thanks for understanding.

ATTENTION Adults and Kids!  Join  Assistant Library Director, Dana Mastroianni, as she ventures out in a nearby location to find mushrooms with you!  We will examine:

  •  what is a mushroom
  •  the basics parts of a 'shroom
  •  where are mushrooms found
  •  how do we know how to tell what kind of mushroom we are viewing

The walk will be at a Cape Ann destination within a 30 minute drive from Rockport and will be revealed closer to the date of the walk.  Each child under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration in advance is REQUIRED. Each reservation may have a maximum of 3 people in the party.

Details of location, what to bring etc. will be emailed to the first 15 successfully registered parties.  If you are unable to keep your reservation, please email dmastroianni@rockportlibrary.org so that another person my attend. Excessive heat or thunderstorms may necessitate cancellation which will be communicated via email.  No message of cancellation from the library means we are heading to the forest to forage for mushrooms!

Registration for this event has now closed.
