The All Saint's Day Kite Festival occurs every year on November 1 in Guatemala. The festival occurs as part of the Day of the Dead festivities. Traditionally, families spend 40 days creating their kite, some of which are up to 25 feet wide! The kites are flown in a cemetery to honor the dead. During our slideshow learn more about this spectacular Guatemalan festival and make your own decorative kite using a round hoop, tissue paper and your imagination.

Kits for this class have been provided by the library and will available in class.

This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Rockport Library.
