Join Sergeant Mary Fountain for an informational session for seniors, caregivers, and anyone interested in learning more about common scams to avoid and what to do if you or an elder you care for has been scammed.
The Rockport Police Department has always strived to protect the senior citizens of Rockport through law enforcement, education, support programs, and referral to and working with other senior protective organizations.
About Mary
In 2019 Officer Mary Fountain was appointed by the Select Board as the Officer for Elder Affairs. Officer Fountain, with the support of Chief John Horvath and the entire Rockport Police Department, continues to enhance their commitment to Rockport's seniors.
In addition to her role as Rockport Police Department’s elder affairs officer, Officer Fountain is also a background investigator, a certified sexual assault investigator, a certified bicycle officer, an officer-in-charge and is a member of the Massachusetts Association of Women in Law Enforcement and the National Association of Women Law Enforcement Executives.
Prior to joining the Rockport Police Department, Officer Fountain worked in the Mayor’s Office and Inspectional Services for the City of Lynn for over eight years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with a focus in police administration from Southern New Hampshire University, and a master’s degree in criminal justice from Boston University.
