Dawn of the Broken Heart. A Magical true story

Jorgelina Zeoli will speak about her life, her creative work (paintings, publications, music, film and video series), and the extraordinary experience that led her to become an inspirational author and producer. She will also read from her memoirs.

She was born in Manhattan, New York, and raised in Argentina. She returned to the States in 1979 to attend The New England Conservatory of Music with a scholarship. She is a former concert singer and organist and specialized in the development of church music programs. She has also taught Tai Chi.

Having lived under a military regime, she has carried through life a deep awareness of the ailments of humanity, the horrors, the suffering, which mirrored her own. At the core of that awareness was a question: “How to stop atrocities and violence? How to eradicate them from the face of the Earth”? Today, that question has disappeared. Her pocket size booklet “The Way Out, Part Four: Arrows of Truth, the Bigger Plan,” describes her philosophy of life: How to lead a meaningful life in a world that is collapsing.

Jorgelina Zeoli’s life has been a passionate quest for Truth and healing. Flashbacks of military violence haunted her for thirty years. In 2009, with the assistance of BevCam (Beverly cable), she produced the film “Over the Mass Grave, God among us,” based on the third book of her memoirs, “The Immigrant” (Flashback Series, Part Three). The flashbacks haven’t returned since. “Over the Mass Grave” won a Religion and Spirituality Award from the Alliance for Community Media (second place) and a Persistence Award from BevCam. It was aired on BevCam and Cape Ann TV. In 2010, again with BevCam’s assistance, she produced the film “Reach for the Stars! Jayzee’s Story” also based on her memoirs and featuring seven of her inspirational songs.

In 2012 she produced the five-part video series “Miracles, a Spiritual Journey from Despair to Hope,” discussions of her two films with holistic practitioners, trauma survivors, interfaith minister Rev. Joel Grossman and Friends (Quakers, peacemakers). BevCam and Cape Ann TV made possible the production of “Miracles”.

In 2018, the Schlesinger Library, Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study, Harvard University, expressed an interest in her memoir about clergy sexual abuse, “A Field with a Million Crosses” (Flashback Series Part Six, at the time still unpublished) and welcomed all her self-published books and booklets. Her poem “In the Breaking” was chosen for the 2022 Anthology of the Foundation for World Healing, World Peace. In 2023 she received a grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

This presentation is intended to reach people’s heart. There will be a follow up on August 24th, at 7pm – 8:30pm for questions and answers. If time allows it, there will be short readings from Jorgelina Zeoli’s “The Way Out Part Three, Psychological and

Spiritual Insights of a Trauma Survivor. A practical Guide to a happier life” followed by discussion.
