Brave Conversations on Death & Dying

Friday, March 295:30—7:00 PMBrenner RoomRockport Public Library17 School Street, Rockport, MA, 01966

We tend to avoid conversations on death and dying - and yet, we are all moving through the cycle of life. Join death doula, end of life celebrant, and expressive artist Bianca Staudt in part one of destigmatizing conversations on death and dying.  Come explore how you can connect with others, even in the face of uncomfortable topics. This program will include debunking common myths of end of life, a brief exploration of how to think about death at any stage of life, creative sharing, and suggestions for where to turn for additional resources.

Bring your curiosity, an open mind, and a notebook or journal if you’d like.

Bianca Staudt (she/her) has a Master’s in Social Work and B.S. in Expressive Arts Therapy, as well as certifications as a death doula, memorial celebrant, and yoga instructor. She specializes in supporting individuals and communities of all ages in creating authentic, meaningful approaches to grief and end of life.  Bianca’s focus is to harness the power of art, ritual, and community, no matter the setting - from hospitals to homes to the outdoors.  In her free time, you will find her painting and block printing in collaboration with earthen elements.  To learn more visit her website at: www.withinwildlight.com.

There will be a part two the next morning, Saturday, March 30 at 10:30am focused on making the space for grief. We hope you can attend both programs but they are separate if you can only attend one.
